Mission Statement
I aim to help you achieve your specific and unique musical goal by helping you build your art. I appreciate every aesthetic and will encourage you to be your absolute best at what you like and what you want to produce. I approach my lessons by consistently incorporating a wide variety of topics to provide a well rounded and fully prepared understanding of your craft. I encourage my students to dream big and to plan and prepare just as big. Finding a musical voice can take time and it evolves as we all change through life. I help all of my students find and grow with their musical voice without any shame or influence over the direction they choose. If you dream it, I will help you learn all of the tricks and techniques to get you to that dream. It’s only a few lessons away!
I do not discriminate in any regard and am an LGBTQIA and BIPOC advocate. These lessons are also very neurodiverse friendly. I can and have helped many students get over certain blind spots from their particular ‘operating system’ and have helped show them their capability even when at odds with themselves.
Student Expectations
Through my program, after determining what your musical goal is and what you want to accomplish, as well as your current skill level, your strengths and weaknesses, I will create a lesson plan that will directly and supplementally help you achieve your wildest goal.
I expect you, as my student, to be ready, with passion, to grow and to sharpen and beef up your skills. I want to know who you are as an artist, what is your unique thing you have to say that nobody else can quite say like you? I expect you to care about the necessary building blocks behind some of the most rewarding skills in musicianship. I expect you to bring some kind of material to each lesson, whether it be a score, a lead-sheet, or a penned out idea. Be ready to discuss your vision in depth as we try to figure out all of the how’s and why’s together.
