Biography

Kevin Kopsco was born on February 29, 1988 and grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. He began composition of songs and musicals in high school where his music was heavily supported. His formal studies began at Berklee College of Music where he received thorough training in Jazz and World musics. While at Berklee, Kevin produced his first musical, Tinn Kisten which was received to a full house. He then transferred to the Boston Conservatory where he studied with Eun Young Lee, John Murphree, Felipe Lara and took vocal lessons from Jared Trudeau. In 2018, in Ipswich Performance Hall at the Boston Conservatory, Kevin premiered his first opera, Oneirism. His post graduate studies continued at Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a focus on electronic music where he studied with P. Q. Phan, Eugene O’Brien, Tansy Davies, Jeffery Hass, John Gibson, and Chi Wang. There he premiered his second opera, a sketch comedy opera known simply as $@#% or Dan’p.

Kevin also performs vocally both by singing, acting, as well as dramatic poetry readings. He is an avid writer of poetry and libretti and prides himself in his fictional conceptions. He has received training in western styles of poetry from Pat Pattison and eastern styles from Judson Evans.
